On the last weekend of November 2023, the last transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ project “ECO-WALKS” took place in Marsciano and San Venanzo, Italy.

The Travelogue APS association hosted representatives of each partner organization of the project, coming from Greece (Intermediakt), Lithuania (Aktyvistai), Spain (ACD La Hoya) and Serbia (Planinarski Klub Tara).

During the two days of activity the participants met to finalize the last activities foreseen by the project, which will end on December 31st, evaluate the impact of the project, discuss its sustainability and, above all, to publicly present the results achieved.

In fact, on the afternoon of November 25th, a public conference was held in San Venanzo, during which the various organizations presented the activities carried out in each country of the partnership and all the results of the project, which were made public and are available in the project website (ecowalks.eu).

Among these, an interactive map with the routes (eco-paths) that have been selected and enhanced in each country, through sporting activities and enhancement of the routes themselves, through waste collection or cleaning of vegetation. The website also includes online learning courses about various topics: environmental protection, sustainability, climate issues, proper waste management, promotion of outdoor physical activities.

The event, organized with the patronage of the Municipality of San Venanzo, was attended by some representatives of associations and organizations who were involved during the project and collaborated for the implementation of the activities, who thus had the opportunity to exchange views with the European partners, discussing possible future collaborations.

In conjunction with the conference, the photographic exhibitions “Terre del Peglia” and “Terre di confine” were also opened, with photographs of the regional and local landscape by Nicola Cirocchi, created with the support of the Municipality of San Venanzo on the occasion of the final event of the project, to give further prominence to the local landscape. The exhibitions will remain on display in the Town Hall until 7 January 2024.

During the two days of the meeting, the foreign participants had the opportunity to further learn about the landscape and resources of the Municipality of San Venanzo, visiting the Volcanological Park and Museum, the “Formichella” Wild and Exotic Animal Recovery Centre, managed by Biodiversity Department of the Carabinieri, and with an excursion from the Sette Frati Park to Monte Piatto.
